About Us

Welcome to Shine Shakti, Yoga Studio and More…

Yoga studio.

Shine Shakti has been delivering yoga classes online and in the Blue Mountains since 2021.

It’s recently found its home within Waratah Holistic Health Clinic, located at 1/82 Waratah St. The space is cosy and intimate, and we hope that each class feels like coming home.

We offer general yoga and specialized classes for particular ages and stages.

What’s Shakti?

Shakti means power.

It’s the creative, divine energy that infuses the universe and enlivens us.

It’s a word in Sanskrit, the ancient language of India in which the teachings of yoga have been passed down across thousands of years. It’s still relevant today, and it’s the loving power that guides this yoga studio.

Shine, Shakti, shine!

Founder and Head Teacher.

Oh hey! I’m Emma: founder of Shine Shakti. Call me mother, yoga teacher, entrepreneur, and more. I speak with a lil American twang, dream in science fiction, and marvel out loud at the mystery of it all.

Almost 10 years ago, I began teaching yoga as part of a wellbeing program at a university. Since then, I’ve taught in the most magical of places including my driveway, various studios, a women’s shelter, workplaces, and online. I’ve spent years studying and sharing yoga for pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood — and I’m excited for this next chapter of yoga for the wider community through the yoga studio in Katoomba.

Bonus things: I’m an authorised civil celebrant, officiating weddings, commitment ceremonies, baby namings, and funerals. I also offer business mentoring to aspiring and early stage entrepreneurs and yoga teachers.

    SHREYA

Originally from the land of yogis - India - Shreya first encountered yoga as a child in primary school. Though unaware at the time, that early experience planted a seed that would flourish years later. In 2011, she was reintroduced to the profound science of yoga, sparking a deep personal journey that led her to become a teacher.

Under the guidance of her Guru and teachers, Shreya had the opportunity to volunteer as a yoga instructor across India and Australia. In 2017, she was honoured to share yoga with Aboriginal communities in one of the most remote regions of the Northern Territory—a transformative experience she holds close to her heart.

Passionate about teaching both adults and children, Shreya believes yoga and meditation are powerful tools for healing the body and mind while fostering spiritual and personal growth.

    COURTNEY

    In her own words…

Grounded in breath, guided by intuition and inspired by transformation.

I am a yoga, meditation and breathwork facilitator who believes the mat is a mirror,  reflecting not just strength and flexibility, but the stories we carry in our bodies.

With 6 years of experience and a lifelong devotion to mindful movement, I create space for students to explore not just poses, but possibility.  My classes blend tradition with creativity,  stillness with flow and always invite you to return home to yourself… one breath, one moment at a time.

  • HANNAH

“I first saw yoga as a physical practice and loved (still do) the physical challenges that it can bring. It's wonderful to feel our strength, flexibility and balance improve and with that bring confidence to ourselves.

I very quickly realised there was more beneath the surface. I experienced that wonderful floating feeling after meditation and shavasana, how yoga had led me to a sense of calm within me. A lightness that led me to feeling a more patient, grounded and present version of myself.

I aim, in my classes, to lead you to somewhere around those feelings in yourself. I look forward to sharing our yoga journey together.”
